Winterization

Ensure your boat is fully prepared for winter storage. Our comprehensive winterization covers all critical systems, protecting your investment and preventing off-season damage.

Engine:
Our engine service process includes a thorough inspection and maintenance check to ensure all critical systems are operating properly. Batteries are charged and tested while battery cables are inspected for wear or corrosion. Belts are examined for proper condition and tension, and both the bilge pump and blower motor are tested to confirm proper operation. Drive oil and engine oil services are completed, while hoses are inspected and tightened where necessary. Hydraulic fluid levels are checked, the flame arrestor is inspected, and both power steering and transmission fluid levels are evaluated to confirm proper condition. Fuel filters are replaced as needed, grease points are serviced, and antifreeze systems are completed to ensure the engine is protected and operating efficiently.

Gauges: All key gauges are checked to confirm proper function and accurate readings. This includes verifying the operation of the oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and voltage gauge to ensure the vessel’s monitoring systems are providing reliable information during operation.

Winterization Overview: Our process is designed to protect your vessel during the off-season and prepare it for reliable performance in the spring. This includes pumping antifreeze through the engine and critical systems, changing engine oil and filters, greasing components, and circulating antifreeze through live wells, toilets, and other onboard systems. Winter also provides an ideal opportunity to complete any needed repairs or maintenance so your boat is fully prepared and ready for the next boating season without interruption.

The Process

Inboard/Outboard/V-Drive/PWC: Ensure your boat is fully prepared for winter storage. Our comprehensive winterization covers all critical systems, protecting your investment and preventing off-season damage. Proper winterization is essential for protecting your boat from freezing temperatures and preventing costly damage during the off-season. At NorthShore Dock & Marine, our professional boat winterization service prepares your engine and onboard systems for winter storage by protecting critical components such as the cooling system, fuel system, and engine internals.

By carefully draining water, stabilizing fuel, and protecting mechanical systems, our technicians help prevent freezing, corrosion, and deterioration that can occur during cold winter months. Professional winterization ensures your boat remains in excellent condition and is ready for a smooth start when the next boating season arrives. In addition to engine protection, our winterization service includes inspecting key systems and components to ensure your boat is properly prepared for long-term storage.

Our technicians check fluids, protect internal engine parts, and help safeguard plumbing and cooling systems from freezing conditions. By winterizing your boat before temperatures drop, NorthShore Dock & Marine helps boat owners avoid unexpected repairs and maintain the reliability, performance, and value of their vessel year after year.
